What is mondayisation?

Mondayisation (definition)

When a public holiday falls on a weekend, if an employee normally works that day it is treated as their public holiday as you would expect. But, if an employee does not work on weekends and the public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, then the following Monday becomes their holiday. Hence, why it is called ‘Mondayisation.’ 

Here are some key points to keep in mind:

  • Mondayisation and Tuesdayisation apply to all types of employees.

  • In certain circumstances, if both Saturday and Sunday are public holidays, treat Tuesday like it is Mondayised (as shown in the graph below).
